Our Mission

To use our own experiences to work good in the lives of other caregivers by helping them to grow in faith and in ability.

Heartease refers to the flower viola tricolor. Besides being beautiful, it represents a few things to me. First of all, I should mention it has many names: Love-in-idleness, johnny-jump-up, and heart(s)ease to name a few. When I began looking for a name for my website, I focused on different uses of the word “heart” to reference my daughter’s congenital heart defect. It was difficult to find things that weren’t already taken. So, I started looking at gardening terms to reference growth that I saw in my own life and I found this cute little flower. In Victorian times, people sometimes ascribed to the “language of flowers” to send messages through floral gifts. The viola was known to represent peace of mind and the Holy Trinity. I loved that. Lastly, I found out that the flower was used as a cure for heart maladies (please don’t try) and I just knew this had to be my name. So, whether you want to look at Heartease and think hearts, peace, or the Trinity, you will see different aspects of the things I want to share with caregivers.
