Recently I was called for jury duty. It was an interesting experience hearing from the judge and lawyers as our group of potential jurors were questioned about our backgrounds, including whether or not we knew the witnesses to the crime.

There is power in being a witness. We have the ability to say that something happened and declare something as truth. Isn’t it remarkable that God is telling Israel in this scripture that they are his witnesses? They have record of the things he has done for them throughout the generations and they are able to testify to his all-sufficiency.

There is no other god besides our Rock of Ages. You can trust in him through every circumstance. Stand on his unchanging nature when you feel the winds of turmoil blowing around you. You don’t need to fear because He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.

Prayer for today:

Heavenly Father, thank you for your steadfast love. Fill me with your peace that doesn’t change with the circumstances of my life. I put my trust in you and I will be your witness. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
