Daily Devotional 10/15/25
I am NOT a confrontational person. This is important to tell you because you probably realize that a large part of caregiving is being an advocate for your loved one. The less that person is able to do for themselves, the more you have to handle things like doctor appointments, insurance, and coordinating with a care team. The opportunities for confrontation seem to abound when you have to wade through the inefficiencies of healthcare.
You may or may not have the same aversion to confrontation I do. We all have strengths and weaknesses. Those attributes will carry over into our job as caregiver. They may even intensify due to the stress you are experiencing. We want to be careful to not let our fears hold us back from what we are called to do or to use stress as an excuse to act sinfully.
The Good Shepherd will not ask us to go and do without going with us. He acts in a loving, protective manner with his flock. He understands each in his care, including what frightens them.
Ask yourself what fear is holding you back from going where God has led you. I have had to learn to stand on my beliefs even when confronted with opposition. It rattles me every single time. Be strong. Be of good courage. Let it be your battle cry when you fight against that which frightens you.
Prayer for today:
Heavenly Father, I know you love me. I also know that you will provide opportunities for me to grow and learn to by more like you. Help me to stay strong and have courage in the face of what frightens me. Help me keep my eyes on you so that I may know that I continue to follow the path you have laid out for me. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
