Image of Psalm 28:7

Do you have a favorite song? It probably comes to mind when you are sitting quietly at home or driving down the street. You may hum it under your breath or shout it out loud in the shower.

It’s quite interesting to me how music has the ability to capture what we are feeling in a moment. The Psalms are a perfect example of people crying out to God in all circumstances.

I want to tell you about a song that played a large role during the days I was a caregiver for my daughter. Every time I turned on the radio, there it was. It became an anthem when I felt too overwhelmed to pray, when nothing felt good, and I didn’t understand why our family had to go through those trials. I sang my prayer in those times.

What does your favorite song say? I hope that it points you toward God and encourages you to trust in Him with your whole heart. Before you pray, take some time to remember that God hears our pleas for mercy and our hearts are safe in His protective hands. Feel free to listen to the song that meant so much to me by watching the video below. You can also find Thy Will by Hillary Scott on all the usual streaming services.

Prayer for today:

Heavenly Father, I trust in you today for strength. I don’t understand the things that are hurting my heart, but I know you will work it all for good. Help me to pray when I haven’t the words to say. Thy will be done, Lord. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
